BellSouth
and AT&T Monopoly:
Implications for the BellSouth v. Bellessouth.com Case
This
is an article explaining the problems likely from the extension
of the 'Belle' domain area into the 'Bell' area. Why At&T
should be
allowed to merge with one of the original Bells and recreate
the old
monopoly should be carefully considered in light of Bell
South's ongoing legal challenges to 'Belle' domain areas.
Where will they go next in attacking Domain Names?
There
also may the necessity of having the Web host for
Southerndomains.com, Interland.Net brought into the case
at this time. This may become necessary, given the seeming
closeness of some parts of their respective businesses,
through a domain company known as Alldomains.com for several
quarters.
Also,
certain professional businesses in Southern Georgia may
also need to be subpoenaed and brought into the case. There
is also the question as to whether or not the Board of Regents
for the University of Georgia may have information useful
in this case. The Board of Regents seems to have engaged
in long term tracking of this site.
